CUBAN MUSEUM PURCHASES SITE TO BUILD MUSEUM

The CUBAN MUSEUM has purchased Florida Grand Opera´s Arturo di Filippi Center, located at 1200 Coral Way, Miami, Florida, where the Museum will operate once the construction of the building is completed.
The signing of the documents took place at the offices of attorney Raoul Garcia Vidal, P.A., and Lyons Realty Group, Inc. was in charge of the real estate transaction.

The CUBAN MUSEUM has received a $10 (US) million grant from the MIAMI-DADE COUNTY 2004 General Obligation Bonds, to cover the purchase of the site and to complete the design and construction of a building.

The building will have rooms for exhibits and will be able to show the Cuban cultural heritage through music, literature, history, theatre, and plastic arts.
The CUBAN MUSEUM has designated Rodriguez and Quiroga, Architects Chartered, for the construction of the building. Members of the Board of Trustees of the Florida Grand Opera and of the CUBAN MUSEUM, officers of MIAMI-DADE County and Members of the Amigos of the CUBAN MUSEUM attended the event.

The President of the CUBAN MUSEUM invited the attendees to the Museum's administrative offices for a toast to celebrate this important occasion.
